Articles Access

Journal of Iranian Architectural Studies (JIAS) provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. The journal is published in both online and print versions so that the researchers would have an easy access to scientific articles. The online version of articles is available in the PDF format. The published articles can be downloaded free of charge.

Double-blind and Peer-review

The journal follows a double-blind and peer-review process whereby the authors do not know the reviewers, and vice versa. Writers should respect the confidentiality of the evaluation process and not reveal their identities to the reviewers, and vice versa. For example, the paper should not contain any information subject to self-disclosure, so that the referees can identify the author.

Authors should not publish their submissions on websites; because on websites, authors can easily identify the referees.

Authors should not nominate people they know who have already read the article or its previous version and made their suggestions to the editor-in-chief; because this knowledge or awareness automatically violates the process Double-blind and Peer-review.

Publication Ethics

This journal is following of Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and complies with the highest ethical standards in accordance with ethical laws.

  1. The submitted articles must adhere to the magazine's standards of preparation and correspond to its goals and subject areas. If it is found that the article is unrelated to those in the journal, it will be sent back to the author.
  2. The accuracy and correctness of the articles' content are the authors' responsibility.
  3. The authors must notify the journal of any mistakes or negligence in their work, make the necessary corrections, or withdraw the piece.
  4. Submitting the same article twice or simultaneously to two journals is against the law.
  5. The journal will take legal action if unethical research practices, such as data falsification, information distortion, and plagiarism, are discovered at any point during the submission, refereeing, editing, or publication of an article.
  6. Once the paper has been accepted, the authors' identities cannot be changed. Before the article is officially accepted, the responsible author must make any changes to the authors' names, including their additions, deletions, and order. For this reason, the responsible author must submit his request to the journal's editor in a letter that is signed by every author of the article and includes a justification.
  7. The journal's editors will keep submitted articles until they are published; under no circumstances will they distribute them to third parties.
  8. This journal upholds the policy of peer-reviewe. Peer review assists the editor in making editorial decisions and through the editorial communications with the author may also assist the author in improving the paper. Peer review is an essential component of formal scholarly communication, and lies at the heart of the scientific method.

Journal of Iranian Architectural Studies (JIAS) committed to maintaining high standards through a rigorous peer-review together with strict ethical policies. Any infringements of professional ethical codes, such as plagiarism, fraudulent use of data, bogus claims of authorship, should be taken very seriously by the editors with no tolerance.
