They may use them through different stages of the design process and to different ends. As this use is important, the study of its positive and negative aspects has encouraged numerous studies to find out about the correct way of using them. In this paper, the use of design precedents is studied by interviewing professional architects and the results have been compared with other studies. Therefore, the aim of this study is to assess the ways professional architecture designers in Iran use design precedents, how they find them, in which stages they refer to them, and how they utilize them in their design process. Survey research is conducted using semi-structured interviews with nine professional architects of Iran, and qualitative content analysis is performed on the results of the interviews. The results identify different criteria that were used in the selection, study techniques, and adaptation of precedents, and reveal that reference to precedents happen at all stages of the design process. However, the type of selected precedents and the strategies to use them are very important to the final design, and reference to precedents cannot be limited to any special architectural type or to any specific stages of design.   طراحان معمولاً در طراحی خود، به پیشینه‌های‌ طراحی مراجعه می‌کنند. این مراجعه ممکن است در مراحل مختلفی از فرایند طراحی و با اهداف مختلفی صورت‌ گیرد. با توجه به اهمیت این مراجعه، بررسی نکات مثبت و منفی آن، پژوهش‌های متعددی را در این حوزه و در جهت دستیابی به شیوه‌های صحیح کاربرد پیشینه‌ها در طراحی، به خود معطوف داشته‌ است. در پژوهش حاضر با مراجعه به طراحان خبره و پرسش از آن‌ها به ارزیابی چگونگی این کاربرد پرداخته‌ و نتایج حاصل با نتایج سایر پژوهش‌ها مقایسه شده است. هدف از این پژوهش مطالعۀ شیوه‌های مراجعۀ طراحان خبرۀ معماری در ایران به پیشینه‌های طراحی و نحوۀ بهره‌گیری از آن‌ها در فرایند ‌طراحی است. در مسیر پژوهش از روش پیمایشی استفاده ‌شده‌ است. با نُه نفر از طراحان خبرۀ معماری در ایران مصاحبۀ نیمه‌سازمان‌یافته انجام شده و در ادامه، متن مصاحبه‌ها تحلیل محتوای کیفی شده‌ است. از نتایج این پژوهش، با توجه به ارائۀ انواع معیارهای انتخاب و راهبردهای بررسی و کاربرد پیشینه می‌توان به این موضوع اشاره کرد که در همۀ مراحلِ طراحی می‌توان به پیشینه‌ها مراجعه کرد، اما نوع پیشینۀ انتخابی و راهبردهای بهره‌گیری از آن بر نتایج این مراجعه بسیار تأثیرگذار است و نمی‌توان مراجعه به پیشینه‌ها را محدود به انواع خاصی از پیشینه‌ها یا مراحل خاصی از طراحی دانست.   https://jias.kashanu.ac.ir/article_111829_7ff77283202f1d628c02b134d8a3a501.pdf
